Giving Charity.

'When you are deep in debt, give money to charity.'

A good friend of mine shared this with me earlier tonight. A saying who's meaning and lesson I am still trying to figure out.

I guess the beauty of these sayings are how varied the lessons it teaches each individual are.

After many discussions, we agreed that one thing it could teach us is the importance of perspective.
The perspective to think positively, and turn your attitude around when you feel you are deep in misfortune.
The ability to change your way of thinking, from believing you are the one who's been played the victim, to realising you have the power to change this attitude. By giving love and assistance to somebody else who may also be in need.
In this way, we are thought to control our attitude, and above all else, gratitude for the privilege to control these things.

Personally, I naturally apply this lesson to my view on love, and in this case, how to give my love selflessly.

When you feel you are not receiving love, GIVE love.
And you may realise that your deficit for love, may be replaced, and ultimately disappear, because the act of giving may be much more fulfilling than thinking we DESERVE to receive love in this world full of ideas of entitlement.
We think we are entitled to feel love and receive love, but we all forget the one core value of sincerity is to give without expecting anything in return to those we really do care about.
Give sincerely without craving a reward.

Instead of focusing on what we don't have, give others what we already have. Whether you think it's enough or not, whether you don't think you have much to offer, you never know how valuable your love is to others.
